Nice to see the dust blown off this project. Weclome back, 1927 Yankees! Impressive effort by those Cubbies.  Too bad, they didn't have Chapman for the full season.

When Ruth was at Wrigley did he call his shot?

He covered that one when they took on the1938 Cubs. By the 2016 matchup Ruth was more amazed at the new Wrigley Jumbotron.

Great to see another entry in the project! And a competitive one, too. Interestingly, the 2016 Cubs allowed the fewest Yanks to cross the plate out of any of the teams since the start of this project. The top 6 opponents in fewest Runs Allowed.

  Team       RA
CHN 2016   23,348
BAA 1969   23,501
CLA 1954   23,678
DEA 1968   23,880
CLA 1948   24,420
ATN 1997   24,479

As, you noted the Wrigley BP effects (4,4,3,12) were a big help in trying to restrain the Yanks' bats. (FYI, Yankee Stad 1927 BPE(3,3,17,17)) The Cubs had a deep rotation 1-5 that all started at least 29 games. Besides Hammel, they were extremely good at not giving up HRs to LHBs. BP effects of the individual cards seem to be coming into play here for both the Yanks and Cubs. The 1927 NY pitchers only gave up 42 HRs for the season and BPHRattempts(Black Diamonds) for their main pitchers are almost non-existent. Out of curiosity, could you please post the BGB that corresponds to sample 13?

Some other stuff (probably related somewhat to above): The RL Yankees hit 158 HRs in 1927. That could be pro-rated to 166 HRs for 162 games. The RL Cubs hit 199 HRs in 2016. Scanning through the 30 project seasons - The Yanks blew right past 166 EVERY season - averaging 206 HRs. While the Cubs were not able to come close to 199 in ANY season - averaging 161 HRs.

A question: I am speculating that Bryant did not bat 2nd in the Cubs order (RBIs seem too high for that)? Could you also please post the batting orders?
