Well, most of the SOMersNW group made it to the latest Friends of the Seattle Public Library Book Sale.

Unfortunately, Hendu42 was not able to join us, but we bought plenty of books, anyway.

And, again, we topped off our day with dinner at Five Guys Burgers and Fries (by now, we should be getting some royalties for mentioning the joint...).

I'll let the other guys trumpet the literary gems they found in their own posts.  I added 16 new books to my own Baseball Library (I'll detail them in the appropriate thread).

There are few things better than spending a day among Strat buddies.

This was the third gathering for the group, and we are already looking ahead to next "season."

Topping the list of proposed activities is a SOMersNW C&D Tourney.  I'm not sure how/when we'll be able to do it, but we will post the results when it happens.

We're also actively looking for new members in the area (we may have found a couple...).

One thing you'll notice missing is the group pic.  Truth to tell, the sale site is an old Naval Air Station airplane hangar...with no air conditioning!  It had been a hot and unusually humid day, and I'll just say it took its toll.

(Also, I had no film in my camera...really!)

Our trip to Five Guys (another plug!) also provided us with an interesting moment, when another patron came in wearing an Ebbets Field Flannels-produced Mudville baseball cap identical to the one I am wearing in my new avatar pic!

It's a fashion trend! biggrin

Sounds to me  that by now you should have a library of your very own.
I had wondered to myself once or twice when you guys were going to get around to rollin' the bones in some type of tourney.
It's really great that this forum has led to the friendships forged and excursions to the ball park, book sales, etc. that you all have enjoyed together.
Rock on guys,

 Who leaked out that information?

Yes, Seajaw and I used to play Strat on stone tablets with the 12 desciples.
The devil even tryed to get in on the action but we told him to go to hell!

I'm embarrassed/relieved to say that I'm not worthy of that kind of attention.

Heck, I didn't even play my first Strat game 'til around 1971!

However, there are those who have played the game long enough to be able to confirm that the Big Bang was actually a Babe Ruth home run roll.
