My name is Mike and as you can tell by my username that I'm a Tony C & Red Sox fan. I used to watch Red Sox games with my grandfather & learned about the game from him. I used to play SOM with a few friends as a kid and somehow drifted away from it. I started playing another C&D baseball game when I was a young adult, I think it was by Sports Illustrated, and also APBA for a while. I recently saw an ad in SI for the new SOM express game and started poking around on the net and finally ordered the new computer version of SOM. I'm currently replaying the nightmare 2011 Red Sox season, hoping to change history! I also enjoy reading baseball related books and was blown away by the size of Seajaw's library! I've ordered a couple of his recommendations. I have a book that I got when I was 8 called "1966 - Major League Baseball uo to date" by Jack Zanger. It reviews 1965 & previews & forecasts the 1966 season. Under the Red Sox bio's for Tony C it reads " It looks as if nothing short of catastrophe is going to stop Tony Conigliaro from becoming one of the top sluggers in baseball." Pretty eerie stuff! Well thanks for a great site and I look forward to reading some more of the replays on here.

Hey Tony C welcome. Im a closest Red Sox fan myself and love those classic era Boston lineups. You gotta pick up a few older seasons to go with that new game of yours... I would love to see more Red Sox replays!

Good luck and have fun.

Hello TonyC,

Although I'm a Tigers fan I've always had a fondness of the Red Sox, the 67 to 75 teams in particular. Fenway in my opinion is the shrine of all stadiums in MLB. Someday I hope to make my way there!

I'm C&D myself but as was mentioned, there are folks here who are longtime computer gamers always helpful to any questions.

This is a great site, I"m certain you will enjoy it.

Tony C,

Welcome aboard.

We have a thread in the Mel Allen forums (several actually) about baseball books.

Over the years, I have collected a bunch on the Fensmen, including Lost Summer - The '67 Red Sox and The Impossible Dream, by Bill Reynolds, and Seeing It Through The Story of a Comeback, by Tony Conigliaro and Jack Zanger.

I also have several others about the history of the Crimson Hose.

Good luck with the replay.

Welcome Mike...aka Tony C.....I was in Boston a couple years ago, absolutely loved Fenway, got there early and walked all around the place, simply awesome for a park that is 100 years old.

Hope you enjoy your stay here......

Thanks for all the replies. I've been a Sox fan since I was a little kid but I am also a fan of baseball in general. Sometimes my wife says I'm crazy because I'll watch the Little League WS when it's on tv. I love all baseball. I got to see Mickey Mantle play once at Fenway during the '67 season. It's one of my greatest memories. I grew up in Lowell, MA and still live nearby and had season tickets for 5 years when the Lowell Spinners Class A short season started play there. They're the Red Sox affiliate in the NY Penn league. Great times at those games. There's a great book written by Chaz Scoggins called Bricks and Bats about professional baseball in Lowell, MA. Scoggins is the official scorer for the American League in Boston since 1978. This book covers the years 1870-2000. I'm still trying to decide which seasons I'm going to get next. Right now I'm 25 games into the 2011 replay. I'll try to post some scores as I go. Hopefully they don't "ruin my summah" as we say around the Boston area!
Which section is the best to post questions about the computer version of SOM?

The Hal Richman Resource Center is the best spot. There is list of stuff over there.

As much as I love Strat many people need help with the computer game. Its not always intuitive.
