Just a short note to let everyone know the 2011-12 Rating Guide and 2011-12 Total Card Values are available while you are waiting for the new version of the basketball game to release. Check out Stratometrics.com for more details.

Nice new Strat forum! Plan to get more active on once things slow down and I have more time.

Good to have you on board.  You may have noticed that we have had little hoops action so far.

Will you be providing some roundball?  A replay, perhaps (hint, hint...)? wink

Thanks for your reply, seajaw! Seems like a nice new forum even though it does not seem like a not of non-baseball action here for a predominately basketball guy. I will continue to post updates on Strat basketball and hopefully it will generate more interest/discussion on the forum here. I am always looking to answer questions on the basketball game.

No time for replays right now as I have a lot of other projects right now which includes maintaining Somhoops.com and the recently setup Stratometrics.com, both websites for the basketball game. I also help run the Classic80 basketball draft league now in the 1986-87 season after starting with 1980-81 (we do have one opening right now). We also have plans to start the Retro70 starting with both the ABA & NBA rosters after the release of Basketball 2012 (already full but will add to waiting list).

How many of you on this forum have played the basketball game?

While SOMers was set up primarily as a baseball site (many of us have prior connections), an expansion into the other sports is always welcome.

We have our first football replay under way right now, and more discussion about the game systems that run football, basketball and hockey would be much-appreciated.

I have never dabbled in the other sports myself, though I found an edition of the basketball game (mostly parts, with a few single player cards) at a local Value Village and grabbed it for $3.99.

I have played a couple games of football on the board game. Really enjoyed it but know so little about football it really helped playing against someone that knew the game well. Never played hockey or baseball, if you an believe that. Strictly into basketball but certainly would play the other games head to head if there was someone in my area that had them or wanted toplay them.

Sounds like we are going to have to find you some team, seajaw, so you can roll a few games of basketball! I'll keep my eyes open and let you know if I find something.

That might be interesting.  I've always been strictly a baseball guy, though

I haven't even watched an NBA game since our Sonics were stolen.
