I would like to suggest a great article to read

Yesterday I read a great article by Pat Jordan, a former pitcher in the Milwaukee Braves organization.  He has written a fine book called A False Spring.

But what I read yesterday was a long piece about Tom Seaver in his retirement as a winemaker in California.  Jordan had known Seaver for decades, and it's a well-written piece that is bittersweet in the sense of how time flies and we all age.  Seaver has had some health problems, including memory loss.  For those of us of a certain age, he will be forever young in the mind's eye.

I can't do the piece proper justice.  You will be enriched if you read it.  I think you can find it on MLB.com or just search under Pat Jordan/Seaver.  Sorry I don't have better linking skills.

I just checked and it's on the site Sports on Earth, and called Tom Seaver, The Constant Gardener.

Hope you guys enjoy it.

They had a piece on this last year on the MLB Network, did interviews with him and his wife . He really seems to enjoy the wine making

Enjoyed reading his perspective on the game, pitching and hitters.  Good stuff.
