Also some '50's "B" classics, like Tarantula, The Deadly Mantis, and Monster on the Campus.  He also had a neat little flick that's one of my "guilty pleasure" faves, The Monolith Monsters.

That reminds me, I wish someone would show re-runs of those Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes, those were hilarious. They used poke fun at many of those "B" sci-fi and horror flicks, and they'd throw in a few public service short films as well.

I never saw any more than bits and pieces of MST3K.

Looking forward to seeing it again.

I remember when I saw Bride for the first time.  Quite the odd film.  I realized, though, just how brilliantly and lovingly Mel Brooks had treated the original three films in Young Frankenstein.

A real treat this coming Saturday night on Svengoolie: It Came From Outer Space, co-starting the recently-deceased Russell ("The Professor," of Gilligan's Island fame) Johnson.

Starting tonight, Svengoolie will be showing all three Creature From the Black Lagoon movies.

Next week, he'll have Revenge of the Creature, then The Creature Walks Among Us, the following Saturday.

After a while, it's time to get back to this.

Sven has a whole bunch of new flicks coming up in the new year.  He said in last week's show that every week will feature a different flick this year -- no repeats (within the year, although some of the movies will be re-airings from previous years).

Tonight, an old Boris Karloff chiller, The Black Castle.

Lots of old cheesey movie fans here (of the type Frank Zappa used to love and write about). I'm a big fan of Mystery Science Theater 3000. In fact, I have every - and I mean EVERY - episode, including the original ones from KTMA. I haven't watched any in awhile, though. I was working my way through them in chronological order, and I left off in season in three or four.

Nice to see the Classic TV Zone get some business.

Did you get them piecemeal, or is there a complete series boxed set?

Got some faves among the flicks?

I got them piecemeal from various sources, including official releases and copies that were circulating among traders. (Many people recorded the original broadcasts on VHS and eventually transferred the shows to DVD.) They likely will never officially release all (about 200) of the shows on DVD because of the difficulty in obtaining the rights to the underlying films for such releases. Many DVDs that were released are now out of print, as well, so getting all episodes is quite an undertaking.

I'm partial to The Day the Earth Froze - a fairly well-made but exceptionally goofy Swedish movie - because it was one of the first ones I saw when I was getting into the series back in 1993. I see it is currently on Youtube. if you want to check it out - www.youtube.com/watch  There also are plenty of sci-fi and monster movies.  It Conquered the World was the one Zappa mentioned in his into to Cheepnis on Roxy & Elsewhere.

I haven't seen it, but I've heard of it.

Here are a few of my faves: Kronos, The Monolith Monsters, Angry Red Planet, Target: Earth.

There's more cheese there than in the entire state of Wisconsin. biggrin
