2005-06 Indiana Pacers replay: Philip Fitzpatrick's rookie season!

I thought I started my Philip Fitzpatrick/Pacers replays with 2010 because I wanted him to be a power forward. But I found some Strat cards from 2005-06 to 2008-09, and I decided to make him a 7-1 reserve center, comparing my Strat-o-Matic replays with my Replay Basketball reports. So 2005-06 is Philip Fitzpatrick's rookie season in the NBA. He will help out the Pacers in a big way, backing up Jeff Foster in the middle, grabbing the rebounds and defending the paint. The key leaders on the 2005-06 Pacers will be Jermaine O'Neal (20.1 ppg), Stephen Jackson (16.4 ppg) and Peja Stojakovic (18.2 ppg) with Fitzpatrick, Danny Granger and Sarunas Jasikevicius being the top rookies. Expect the Pacers to win 42-45 games this season as Philip Fitzpatrick begins his rookie season in the NBA, which begins 11/1/05 in Orlando.

Game 1 - 11/1/05 - at TD Waterhouse Arena

INDIANA (1-0), ORLANDO 81

In his first game as a Pacer, Peja Stojakovic made an impact as he had 19 points and 7 rebounds in his Indiana debut. Jermaine O'Neal added 16 while rookie center Philip Fitzpatrick was outstanding with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Fellow rookie Danny Granger also did well with a 10/5 game. For the Magic, Hedo Turkoglu led the team with 17 points while Dwight Howard had 11 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

Game 2 - 11/3/05 - at AmericanAirlines Arena

INDIANA (2-0) 97, MIAMI 78

The Pacers improved to 2-0 as they had no problem with the Heat, 97-79. Stephen Jackson bounced back from his 6 point performance at Orlando by tallying a team high 25 to lead the charge. Peja Stojakovic added another 20 points and 6 rebounds to his total, while Jermaine O'Neal (18/16/7) and rookie Philip Fitzpatrick (15/10/7) almost had triple-doubles! Dwyane Wade led Miami with 26 points and 7 rebounds, followed by Antoine Walker with 19 and Shaquille O'Neal with 18.

Up next: the home opener at Conseco Fieldhouse, November 5 vs. the Philadelphia 76ers.

Jermaine O'Neal led Indy with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks while Peja Stojakovic had 17 points and 7 rebounds.

Jermaine O'Neal had another huge game while the Pacers were 13-for-25 from behind the arc as they beat down Portland by 45. Not only did they out-score the Blazers by a wide margin, they out-rebounded them by a count of 63-34, and had more assists, 25-15. Fred Jones connected on 6 3-pointers, good for 18 points while Peja Stojakovic had 3 3's and 17 points. The Pacers held Rip City to just 35% field goals, as Zach Randolph was 4-for-24 from the floor. Indiana's starters outscored Portland's by a count of 69-45 while the 2nd unit outscored the Blazers' reserves, 45-24. After one of my most convincing routs I've ever played with Strat hoops, the Pacers will play the Seattle SuperSonics next, December 4 at Key Arena.
