LAKERS 87, PACERS (23-9) 85 (overtime)

Both teams shot poorly (LA 40%, IND 37%), and the Pacers shooting guards (Jackson and Jones) were a combined 1-for-21 from the floor. The Blue and Gold were led by Peja Stojakovic, who had 28 points, followed by rookie SF Danny Granger, with 11 points. Philip Fitzpatrick, Indy's rookie center had 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists while Jamaal Tinsley almost had a triple-double with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists.
