Game 20

1/31/12

Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis

INDIANA (13-7) 114, NEW JERSEY 89

A 43-19 second quarter helped the Pacers rout the Nets, earning their 4th straight win. David West had 27 points while Danny Granger tallied 25 for Indiana, and their bench outscored Jersey's 49-21, as Leandro Barbosa and George Hill had 13 points and Philip Fitzpatrick was 5-for-5 from the floor, good for 10 points. For the Nets, Deron Williams had 32 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists in a losing cause, but Indiana's 52% shooting percentage coupled with NJ's lowly 41% field goals did in the Garden State cagers.

NETS

Okur 4/5/0, Wallace 15/5/1, D. Williams 32/5/11, Morrow 5/1/1, Humphries 12/12/3, S. Williams 6/8/3, Green 0/2/0, Gaines 2/2/0, Farmar 7/1/2, J. Williams 6/3/0.

PACERS

West 25/2/2, George 8/5/7, Collison 1/2/9, Granger 25/5/1, Hibbert 4/9/1, Hansbrough 6/2/0, Barbosa 13/3/2, Hill 13/3/5, Jones 7/3/1, Fitzpatrick 10/9/1.

The Pacers wrap up January with a 4-game winning streak. Their next game is February 1st at the Target Center in Minneapolis, when they face the Minnesota Timberwolves. Both teams will wear ABA throwback jerseys, with the Wolves wearing the uniforms of the old Minnesota Muskies.

Game 21

2/1/12

Target Center, Minneapolis

MINNESOTA 116, INDIANA (13-8) 83

A Bill Russell-like effort by Kevin Love (55 points/23 rebounds) and a double-double by Ricky Rubio (21/4/10) along with holding the Pacers to just 31% shooting helped Minnesota to a 33-point beatdown of Indiana. The Wolves out-rebounded Indy 62-48, thanks to Love's great performance, as well as Martell Webster's ten rebounds off the bench. The only good coming out of this loss was Danny Granger, who had a team high 34 points in a losing cause.

PACERS

Hibbert 7/6/3, Granger 34/5/0, Collison 4/5/4, George 6/5/1, West 2/2/2, Fitzpatrick 5/11/3, Jones 4/1/1, Price 0/2/1, Barbosa 13/2/0, Hansbrough 8/9/1.

Fitzpatrick was 2-10 from the floor, Price 0-7, West 1-7.

TIMBERWOLVES

Love 55/23/1, Ridnour 4/2/7, Rubio 21/4/10, Johnson 4/3/1, Milicic 4/4/1, Beasley 11/6/1, Ellington 9/1/0, Barea 4/2/5, Webster 2/10/2, Pekovic 2/7/0.

Love's 55 points were the most for an opponent in my replays, and his 23 rebounds were the most I have recorded in my replays.

This loss snapped the Pacers' 4-game winning streak, and the Pacers look to get back on the winning track February 3rd in Dallas against the Mavericks.
