Wow! Love these logos! I assume these were created in Photoshop or something similar? Looking forward to seeing how this all plays out.

A friend of mine helped me out with some of them, he is a whiz at photoshop.

I just made a sample pennant for the Sharon Hustlers though. But welcome to the forum!!! Glad you're aboard with the replay.

I made some edits to the Sharon Hustlers logo...don't know if it's too busy or not though.

Thanks TT. I think my favorite logo is the Allentown Fleetwings, just has a cool feel to it.

I think Scranton is the team to beat...

Thanks for the warm welcome! I've dabbled in Strat over the years while lurking in these forums for some time, but I'm all in now!

I really like the Hustlers logo and pennant. You've got a knack for creativity!

That pennant took a while to get it the way I wanted it...I tried to put it in perspective to make it look like a real pennant would look...bigger in the front and then smaller as it goes back, but I wasn't happy with the way it turned out.

It looks good the way it is IMO. And thank you for the kind words, I think making the logos and doing the extra stuff in the replay is just as fun as playing the games. biggrin

A man after my own heart! wink

All of these squads are solid, it's tough to pick one. I'm anxious to get this one started, but I will have to hold off until my Negro League project is finished.

That makes it...

Allentown - 2
Bethlehem - 0
Harrisburg - 1
Lancaster - 1
Scranton - 1
York - 0

This should be fun, we'll see as the seasons rack up if anyone's loyalty changes. biggrin

I think Scranton might be my favorite logo. Love the color scheme. You mentioned to ask about your basic modifications. Care to elaborate a bit on what/how you're modifying the play?

Thanks in advance!

No problem MB. I too like the color scheme and logo of Scranton. I love them all, I think it adds even more to this project.

My basic modifications are: My Basic Stealing Chart and my chart on when to remove the starting pitcher. I really only use the chart on when to remove the starter on more recent seasons, as I'll most likely use POW in this project, but I will explain it anyways.

Basic Stealing Chart

  • AA = 2-6
  • A = 2-5
  • B = 2-4
  • C = 2-3
  • D = 2-2
  • F = Doesn't steal

So this is how it works, I will use Ty Cobb for the sake of an example. Cobb's HOF card he is a AA base stealer. I look at the chart...an AA base stealer is 1-7. I roll the two six-sided dice...the result is a 3-3 which totals 6. Cobb is allowed to steal. I then roll the 20-sided die, if it is any result lower than 17 (according to the basic rules) it will be a stolen base. The roll is a 10...Cobb is safe at second.

If the two-sided dice result was greater than 8 then Cobb would stay at first and would not be allowed to steal until the next batter.

_____________________________________

Basic Pitching Chart

  • 0 ER = 9 IP
  • 1 ER = 8 IP
  • 2 ER = 7 IP
  • 3 ER = 6 IP
  • 4 ER = 5 IP
  • 5 ER = 4 IP
  • 6 ER = 3 IP
  • 7+ ER = 2 or less IP

This is pretty simple, you just follow how many runs the pitcher gives up, so if a pitcher is cruising (no runs allowed) I'm gonna leave him in there to complete the game. Hope you understand these better, if you need anything further explained let me know, and welcome to the forum once again MB. We're all glad to have you! biggrin

Thanks for the response! I like what you have going here. Just to make sure, catchers arm strength never comes into play when attempting to catch a runner stealing in this replay?

Thanks again.

Allentown Fleetwings at Scranton Electrics (Games 1-2)

Opening Day was finally here in the Keystone Baseball League, and it would kick off with a thrilling series between the Allentown Fleetwings and the Scranton Electrics. The two teams would split the two-game set, with each game being decided by a lone run.

Game 1 - A three-run 5th inning thanks to a two-run homer from Barry Bonds and a solo blast from Willie Mays would propel the Scranton Electrics to a win in front of their hometown fans. Willie Mays had a tremendous day for Scranton, going 3 for 3 with a double, a triple, a homer, three runs batted in, and a walk. He would miss the cycle by a single, though as it would have been some feat to pull off in an opening game. SCR 5, ALL 3

ALL 210 001 000 - 4 10 0 (0-1)

SCR 101 030 00X - 5  9 0 (1-0)

Win: Welch (1-0)

Loss: Young (0-1)

Save: Manning (1st)

HR: R.Kiner (1st), B.Bonds (1st), W.Mays (1st)

Game 2 - It was a seesaw game in the series finale, as there were five different lead changes, but ultimately the Allentown Fleetwings would avoid being swept with a narrow victory. The Fleetwings deciding runs would come in the top of the 9th when Mike Piazza drilled a two-run homer off of Greg Maddux to make it 9-6 Fleetwings. However, the Electrics would rally back, with two runs in their half of the 9th to make it interesting. However, they would fall just short as both Barry Bonds and John Beckwith would strike out with a runner on 2nd to end the game. Ernie Banks sealed the first two-homer game in league history though, going 2 for 4 with two homers and three runs knocked in for the Electrics in a losing effort. ALL 9, SCR 8

ALL 120 020 022 - 9 11 0 (1-1)

SCR 031 002 002 - 8 10 1 (1-1)

Win: Walsh (1-0)

Loss: Waddell (0-1)

Save: Carlton (1st)

HR: M.Piazza (1st), R.Kiner (2nd), S.Sosa (1st), J.Bagwell (1st), E.Banks-2 (2nd), M.Cochrane (1st)

Lancaster Red Roses at York White Roses (Games 1-2)

Nothing like starting off the season against your rival...the Lancaster Red Roses and York White Roses would face off in a battle of the Roses, as the two teams would split the opening series one game a piece.

Game 1 - The Red Roses scored one run in the 2nd thru 6th innings and then added another solo run in the 9th as they cruised to an opening series victory over the White Roses. Lancaster utilized four home runs on the day, all solo blasts to account for their scoring. They also got a solid outing from Old Hoss Radbourn who went nine innings allowing just one run on five hits and striking out three. LAN 6, YRK 1

LAN 011 111 001 - 6 13 1 (1-0)

YRK 000 100 000 - 1  5 2 (0-1)

Win: Radbourn (1-0)

Loss: Alexander (0-1)

HR: F.Thomas (1st), W.Wells (1st). H.Aaron (1st), M.Schmidt (1st)

Game 2 - It looked like the Lancaster Red Roses were going to get the first series sweep in league history, however, the White Roses had other ideas as they rallied from a 6-1 deficit in the 8th to tie the game and then walk-off on the Red Roses. York scored five runs in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game, two of those coming off of Hilton Smith. Then in the bottom of the 9th, Honus Wagner would roll a 4-5...1-5 HR, 6-20 FO split and the split roll would be a 4 for a walk-off blast for Wagner to give the White Roses an exciting win. YRK 7, LAN 6

LAN 000 204 000 - 6  9 1 (1-1)

YRK 100 000 051 - 7 12 0 (1-1)

Win: Johnson (1-0)

Loss: Smith (0-1)

HR: M.Suttles (1st), B.Mackey (1st), M.Schmidt (2nd), H.Wagner (1st), A.Belle (1st)
