'68 Detroit Tigers by a score of 5 to 3 at The Kingdome.

'95 Seattle had the game winning rally in the 9th inning with 3 runs utilizing

Tino Martinez dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Ken Griffey
Jr. kept the inning going and smashed a two-run homer. '95 Seattle had a
total of 9 hits for the game.

The victory went to Johnson(6-2) who went the distance allowing 3 runs. The

allowing 9 hits and 1 walk.

'Now that is what I call fun! I just love baseball, especially games like
this, of course,' Lou Piniella offered. 'Everyone at the stadium had a great
time - did you see the fans go wild there at the end?!'

My kinda game! biggrin

Keep 'em comin'.

Gotta be tough, trying to figure out how to use Junior, since he missed all that time after he broke his wrist.

And look at Gar!  What's his current OBA?  Must be near the top there, too?

Al Simmons smashed 3 homeruns and had 6 RBI as the '30 Oakland/Phi A's
ballclub embarrassed the '59 Chicago AL White Sox by the count of 10 to
0.

Simmons was a source of great heartache for the '59 Chicago AL faithful all
evening. He just kept pounding out hits! He ripped a one-base hit which
brought home a run in the 3rd inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the
5th inning, smashed a solo-shot out of the park in the 6th inning and smacked
a three-run homer in the 7th inning. '59 Chicago AL was out-hit by '30
Oakland/Phi, 16 hits to 7.

Lefty Grove(4-8) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 6 innings. Roy
Mahaffey preserved the game for Grove, recording his his 1st save. Bob
Shaw(6-5) was charged with the loss. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 5
innings.

'Everything seemed to click tonight,' Simmons said 'if it could only be this
easy all the time!'
