Mark Gubicza(1-0) and Jeff Ballard(0-1) locked horns in a pitcher's duel with
Gubicza and the Kansas City Royals coming out on top of the Baltimore Orioles
3 to 1.

Baltimore was unable to climb back into it after Kansas City went ahead for
good in the bottom of the 3rd inning plating one baserunner on 2 base hits.
After two were out Gerald Perry laced a base-knock. Perry took off for
second and slid in with a stolen base. Kevin Seitzer then laced a one-base
hit. Seitzer took second on the throw. George Brett was up next and he was
walked intentionally. Bo Jackson was a strikeout victim, unable to help out.
That was all the runs Gubicza needed. Kansas City finished with 7 hits in
the victory.

Jeff Montgomery earned the save, his 2nd.
