Oakland Athletics at Toronto Blue Jays (Games 8-11)

Game 1 - Blue Jays 9, Athletics 2
- The Blue Jays led 9-0 after five innings of play but Rickey Henderson finally got the A's on the board in the 6th with a two-run homer to make it 9-2. That would be the final score, as Kelly Gruber homered twice and drove in six for the Jays.

Win: Wells (2-0)
Loss: Moore (0-1)
HR: R.Henderson (6th), K.Gruber-2 (3rd), J.Olerud (2nd)

Game 2 - Athletics 4, Blue Jays 3
- It was a 2-1 game in favor of the A's when John Olerud smacked a solo homer to tie the game at two in the 7th. However, in the 8th, Jose Canseco followed up with a two-run blast that held as the game-winner.

TOR 000 001 110 - 3 11 0 (6-3)


Win: Stewart (1-1)
Loss: Steib (1-2)
Save: Eckersley (4th)
HR: J.Canseco (5th), F.McGriff (2nd), K.Gruber (4th), J.Olerud (3rd)

Game 3 - Athletics 4, Blue Jays 1
- Bob Welch took a shutout into the 9th inning when finally he gave up a solo home run to Fred McGriff to end his shutout bid. However, Dennis Eckersley would retire the next three batters to pick up his 5th save of the season.

TOR 000 000 001 - 1 6 1 (6-4)


Win: Welch (3-0)
Loss: Black (1-1)
Save: Eckersley (5th)
HR: H.Baines (1st), F.McGriff (3rd)

Game 4 - Athletics 4, Blue Jays 2
- The Athletics swung hot bats in the series finale, smacking 14 hits on the day as they double up the  Blue Jays by the count of 4 to 2 and take the series and move into first place. Rickey Henderson and Dave Henderson both had three hits each.

Chicago White Sox at Boston Red Sox (Games 8-11)

Game 1 - Red Sox 2, White Sox 1
- The White Sox took a 1-0 lead in the 9th on a Carlton Fisk solo homer but then would run into trouble as the Red Sox got their first two batters of their half of the 9th on board with singles. Luis Rivera would double in a run to tie the game and Wade Boggs followed that up with a single as the Red Sox walked it off.

BOS 000 000 002 - 2 13 1 (3-5)


Win: Kiecker (1-1)
Loss: King (0-1)
HR: C.Fisk (3rd)

Game 2 - Red Sox 9, White Sox 1
- The White Sox got a run in the top of the first to take the early lead but they had no match for the Red Sox as they scored eight runs in the bottom of the 3rd to cruise to an easy 9-1 win. Wade Boggs went 3 for 5 with a pair of doubles and a run batted in.

BOS 008 000 01X - 9 15 0 (4-5)


Win: Clemens (2-1)
Loss: Hibbard (1-2)
HR: None

Game 3 - Red Sox 7, White Sox 3
- For the third straight time in the series, the White Sox would score first but it would be the Red Sox who would come out on top. Down 1-0 in the 2nd, Wade Boggs would give the Red Sox the lead for good with a grand slam as the White Sox continue to struggle.

CHW 010 100 100 - 3  6 2 (3-7)
BOS 040 002 01X - 7 12 1 (5-5)


Win: Boddicker (1-1)
Loss: McDowell (0-3)
HR: S.Fletcher (1st), W.Boggs (1st), E.Burks (1st)

Game 4 - Red Sox 4, White Sox 2
- The Red Sox complete the sweep as they double up the White Sox by the count of 4 to 2. The Red Sox were actually down 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th when an error by first baseman Frank Thomas allowed the tying run to score and Ellis Burks would knock in a pair with a single to give the Sox some insurance.

Cincinnati Reds at New York Mets (Games 8-11)

Game 1 - Mets 5, Reds 4
- The Mets jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first with a triple from Dave Madagon, a single from Gregg Jeoffries, and a two-run blast from Daryl Strawberry. Strawberry added a solo homer in the 3rd that would hold as the game-winner as the Reds scored three times in the 9th as their rally fell just short.

Win: Fernandez (1-1)
Loss: Charlton (0-1)
Save: Franco (2nd)
HR: B.Doran (2nd), D.Strawberry-2 (5th)

Game 2 - Mets 7, Reds 6
- It was a back-and-forth game as the Mets and Reds kept on exchanging three-run innings. Finally, after the Mets tied the game in the 5th on a three-run blast from Gregg Jeoffries; his second homer of the day, the Mets took the lead for good with a double from Howard Johnson for another close victory.

Loss: Browning (1-2)
Save: Franco (3rd)

Game 3 - Reds 11, Mets 3
- It was a big day from the Reds' offense as they scored 11 times and smacked 18 hits on their way to an easy 11-3 victory. The story of the game was Chris Sabo, who went 4 for 6 with a double, three home runs, and four runs batted in as he recorded a monster day out of the leadoff spot.

NYM 000 120 000 -  3  9 0 (5-5)


Win: Rijo (2-0)
Loss: Cone (1-2)
HR: C.Sabo-3 (4th), M.Duncan (2nd), B.Doran (3rd)

Game 4 - Mets 1, Reds 0
- Dwight Gooden kept up with his solid starts, as he tossed a complete game shutout allowing seven hits and struck out nine as the Mets win the series. The lone run of the game came off the bat of Howard Johnson, as he smacked his 4th homer of the year.

Montreal Expos at Pittsburgh Pirates (Games 8-11)

Game 1 - Expos 6, Pirates 5
- The Expos blasted three home runs on the day and got a big day from Andres Galarraga who went 3 for 4 with a homer and two RBI as the Expos just barely get the victory. The Pirates loaded the bases in the 7th with nobody out but could only push across a single run.

PIT 201 010 100 - 5  9 0 (4-4)


Win: Gardner (1-0)
Loss: Heaton (1-1)
Save: Burke (3rd)
HR: T.Raines (2nd), A.Galarraga (1st), M.Fitzgerald (1st)

Game 2 - Pirates 3, Expos 1
- After a solo homer from Tim Wallach and Sid Bream the game stayed at a 1-1 tie. Finally, in the 7th inning with men on second and third with two men out Barry Bonds delivered as he lined a single into the left field gap to bring home a pair as that served as the game-winner.

Win: Drabek (3-0)
Loss: Martinez (0-2)
Save: Landrum (1st)

Game 3 - Pirates 6, Expos 2
- Jeff King had a solid day at the dish for the Pirates, as he went 2 for 3 with a pair of home runs and four runs batted in to back up a strong start from Zane Smith who went seven innings and allowed two runs. Barry Bonds added a 3 for 4 day with his second dinger of the season.

PIT 000 030 21X - 6 11 1 (6-4)


Win: Smith (2-1)
Loss: Boyd (0-1)
HR: B.Bonds (2nd), A.Van Slyke (4th), J.King-2 (2nd)

Game 4 - Expos 5, Pirates 1
- Kevin Gross took a shutout into the 9th inning before finally giving up a run but would stay in the game to complete it. He got a little help from the offense as Andres Galarraga went 2 for 4 with a pair of homers and drove in four as the Expos manage a series split.

PIT 000 000 001 - 1 4 0 (6-5)


Win: Gross (1-1)
Loss: Smiley (0-3)

Thanks for the kind words guys! I had a really good time. I'm glad you liked the pictures. I just recently got a GoPro action camera so most of the pictures I took were using that, they turned out pretty good.

I am packing for school today since I head back tomorrow, but I am trying to roll a few games before I go back tomorrow morning. Can't believe summer is over already!
