Game 17

Wednesday, December 2nd

Staples Center

2016 Indiana Pacers Logo        2016 Los Angeles Clippers Logo

          108 (10-7)                                   84

The Indiana Pacers won their third straight game as they blew out the LA Clippers at Staples Center.  There were plenty of heroes tonight, like Paul George, who had 35 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists, 2 helpers shy of a triple-double.  Also getting a starring role in Hollywood this evening was Monta Ellis, who added 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists, and a star on the rise was rookie center Philip Fitzpatrick, who followed his 16-rebound game against the Lakers with 10 points, 14 rebounds and a career high 5 assists tonight against one of the NBA's most dangerous centers, DeAndre Jordan.  Fitz also shone brightly on defense, holding the NBA's field goal accuracy leader (DJ shot 70.3% from the floor that season) to a horrible 0-for-9 in field goals!  The team sparkled by out-rebounding LA 62-47, and holding the Clips to just 36% from the floor, tied with Cleveland from November 8th for worst opponents field goal percentage.  And the Blue & Gold also twinkled dishing out those assists, handing out 29 out of 42 baskets.  The only rave reviews for the Clippers?  Well, Blake Griffin was great as usual, with 25/13/4,  Jordan also had 13 rebounds and Chris Paul had 16 points, 6 rebounds and a game high 8 assists.  But it was thumbs up for the Pacers and thumbs down for the Clippers as Indy ran away with the win, 108-84.

INDIANA PACERS

Mahinmi 6-3-1, George 35-11-8, G. Hill 7-5-2, Ellis 18-5-6, Allen 4-7-1, Fitzpatrick 10-14-5, Miles 8-2-0, Lawson 4-1-4, Stuckey 6-2-1, J. Hill 10-7-1.

LA CLIPPERS LEADERS

Points - Griffin, 25

Rebounds - Griffin & Jordan, 13

Assists - Paul, 8.

Up next: the Pacers West Coast road show pays a visit to Portland, for a game with the Trail Blazers, Thursday, December 3rd at Moda Center.
