Did you know that Paul George has scored 30 points or more 18 times this season? He has had 8 games where he has scored 40 points or more. PG has also scored a career high of 49 points twice.

I knew he was having a pretty decent year.

You just don't hear much about players from Indiana because they are............players from Indiana.........

Game 37 - 1/10/16 - Toyota Center

ROCKETS 109
PACERS 86 (20-17)

After scoring 141 points in a win over the Pelicans on January 8th, the Pacers came crashing back to earth as they tallied just 86 points in a blowout loss to the Rockets. James Harden was the story, as he had 49 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. Harden's 49 points were the most for a Pacers opposing player. Houston made 53% of their field goals, and 6 of their 9 3's and held Indiana to a season low 38% from the floor. There were plenty of fouls in tonight's game, and both teams made each other pay. The Pacers were 22-30 from the charity stripe while Houston was 21-28. Paul George led the Blue & Gold with 24 points, while Philip Fitzpatrick had 12 points and 7 rebounds off the bench, including 6-8 from the foul line.

Despite Paul George fouling out with a season low 11 points, 38% field goal shooting and 6-of-24 in 3-pointers, the Indiana Pacers found a way to win as C.J. Miles stepped in and had 22 points and 6 rebounds off the bench. Ian Mahinmi (playing at reserve power forward) had 12 points and 8 boards while Philip Fitzpatrick had 10 points and a team high 9 rebounds, both off the bench, as the Blue & Gold's backups were the difference, outscoring Denver's reserves 51-23. Another key stat was rebounds, as Indy out-rebounded the Nuggets 59-52, as 8 different players hauled down at least 5 rebounds. Even though Danilo Gallinari had 32 points and 6 rebounds, and Emanuel Mudiay had 13 points and 8 assists, Denver was only 39.8% from the court and was just 5-of-17 from beyond the arc.

KINGS 72

Paul George scored 46 points, outscoring the entire Kings starting lineup, and he also scored 25 points in the 4th quarter, outscoring Sacramento in the 4th 25-13 as the Pacers turned a close game (61-59 in the 3rd) into a rout. Rebounding was also huge, as the Blue & Gold won the battle hands down, 54-33, as reserve guard Solomon Hill had a career high 11 boards while Lavoy Allen hauled down 10 rebounds, and Jordan Hill had 9. The Kings shot just 39% from the floor, but inside the arc they made just 35% of their 2-pointers. Indy also did a great job on defense, not only holding the Kings to just 72 points, but DeMarcus Cousins only had 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists, and Rajon Rondo only had 6 assists. Also, Marco Belinelli had 16 points, but no other player wearing purple and black was in double figures.

The Blue & Gold's two top scorers had poor shooting nights, as Monta Ellis (despite scoring 21 points and f-11 shooting in the 2nd half) was 2-for-13 in the 1st half, and Paul George, who had just 19 points, was only 4-for-18 from the floor, but he also had a game high 13 rebounds plus 6 assists. PACERS 110 (25-22)

Emmanuel Mudiay had a career high 38 points while Danilo Gallinari had 21/7 and Gary Harris added 19 as Denver handed Indiana their 3rd straight loss and their 4th in 5 games. The Nuggets trailed at the break 62-54, but a 37-24 3rd quarter did in the Blue & Gold. Also hurting Indy was that Paul George fouled out with a season low 7 points. However, C.J. Miles filled in nicely scoring a career best 37 points off the bench along with 6 boards. Monta Ellis had a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists while Philip Fitzpatrick had 14/7. Denver out-rebounded the Pacers 43-40, thanks to Jusuf Nurkic's 10 rebounds off the bench. They also out-shot the home team 53%-52.8%. Game 48 - February 1st - Bankers Life Fieldhouse

CAVALIERS 98
PACERS 77 (25-23)

LeBron James had 32/7/6 while Kyrie Irving had 15/5/5 as Cleveland gave the Pacers a forgettable way to end their homestand with a 98-77 win. The Cavs scorched the nets with a 58% shooting percentage, and they held the Blue & Gold to under 80 points. There were many things that went wrong for Indiana, like Paul George fouling out with just 4 points on only 2-for-18 field goals, and once again, while the opponents were over 50% from beyond the arc, the Pacers were 2-of-13. Despite being laughed at by the reigning Eastern Conference champions, Monta Ellis had a good game with 16/6/5 while Philip Fitzpatrick, who was recently struggling to connect on his field goals, was a perfect 7-for-7, good for 14 points and 7 rebounds.

INDIANA PACERS

J. Hill 8-4-3, Ellis 16-6-5, G. Hill 10-1-6, George 4-6-2, Fitzpatrick 14-7-1, Allen 4-3-0, S. Hill 4-2-2, Lawson 0-0-1, Miles 9-0-1, Mahinmi 4-5-0, Robinson 4-1-0.
