Game 2 was another slug fest won by the Dodgers. Roe lasted 6 2/3 innings to get credit for the win. O'Toole lasted only 4 1/3 innings for the loss.

Hodges got things going for Brooklyn in the first inning with a 2 out grand slam. F. Robinson's bases loaded triple in the third cut the lead to 1 run.

Campanella homered in the bottom of the third, and Snider and Hodges followed with back to back doubles. Post went yard in the top of the fourth, but the Dodgers pushed 3 more runs across in the bottom of the inning. Furillo lashed a rbi single and Campanella hit his second home run of the game.

Roe got the first 2 outs in the seventh, before Kasko singled. F. Robinson followed with a 2 run homer, and Roe was relieved by Milliken to pitch to Bench. Bench flew out to end the inning.

The Reds made one more run at the Dodgers in the ninth. Gernert led off with a walk. Pinson singled him to third. Kasko popped out, but F. Robinson came through again with a single. Bench stepped to the plate representing the go ahead run, but Milliken got him to bounce into a game ending double play.

24 Senators sweep 3 from 20 White Sox

Game 1

 123   456   789   101112   131415   FHE
20 White Sox (4-5)1010000000000002101
24 Senators (5-4)0002000000000013120

Walter Johnson and Ed Cicotte locked up in a great pitchers' duel, with each hurler going 12 innings, and receiving a no decision. Marberry pitched the final 3 frames to get the win, while Payne went 1/3 inning to take the loss.

Chicago took the lead two batters into the game when E. Collins singled and came home on a J. Jackson triple. Johnson was able to strand the runner at third. Shoeless Joe was also invoved in the third inning, cracking a double, and Scoring on Foxx' single.

Washington would get the 2 runs back in the fourth. Goslin ripped a double and scored on H. Wilson's single. Peckinpaugh's single would plate Wilson. From this point on, a lot of zeroes were traded.

Hodge relieved Cicotte in the 13th, and tossed 2 scoreless innings, before being removed for a pinch hitter. Enter Payne. Bluege led off the 15th with a single. Marberry bunted him to second. Rice lined a game winning single.

A wild game that definitely goes with Yogi's saying, "It ain't over till it's over". Where to start with this game?

After taking a 10-8 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Senators sent Speece to the mound to try and close it out, no go. Murphy pinch hit for L. Williams and lined a single. E. Collins singled, putting runners on the corners. McMullin popped out. J. Jackson single home a run, keeping men on first and third. Foxx delivered a rbi single tying the game, and S. Collins singled home the go ahead run before the side was retired.

With a 1 run lead, Chicago brought Faber into the game. Judge greeted the new hurler with a base hit. Bluege followed with a single, moving Judge to third. Peckinpaugh grounded out, but Bluege moved to second. Shirley ripped a single to center field scoring Judge, but Leibold's throw nailed Bluege at the plate. Tate was sent up to hit for Speece. Tate drilled a single to center and Shirley was waived home. Leibold again made a great throw to get Shirley and extend the game once more!

In the top of the 11th, Foxx lined his sixth single of the game to drive home E. Collins.

Bottom of the 11th, with 1 out, Peckinpaugh walked. Shirley singles, and Ruel bats for Zahniser. Muddy singles home the tying run, bringing Rice to the plate. Just like the previous game, Rice singles, and delivers the walk off win.

Mogridge went 7 2/3 innings to win his third decision of the year. Ogden relieved and finished for his first save. Kerr went the distance, taking the loss.

Mogridge was rolling along as Washington gave him a 5-0, until the eighth inning. Felsch singled with 2 outs. Foxx slammed a double, and Felsch scored from first. S. Collins walked. Schalk doubled home a run, and Mogroidge was done for the day. Ogden relieved to pitch to Risberg, but Swede doubled home a pair of runs before McMullin made the final out.

Top of ninth, Murphy pinch hit for Kerr and drew a walk. E. Collins flew out. J. Jackson walked, but Felsh hit into a game ending double play.

What a way to sweep a series. All 3 games are worthy by themselves. Even the last game where the ChiSox made it nerve-wracking with that 8th inning.
