Orioles' staff has been super impressive so far, but I think "What goes up, has to come back down"

I agree. I have never experienced anything like this in Strat, have you? This pace is impossible to keep up.

Joe Dimaggio had 5 hits and 6 RBI at Yankee Stadium as the New York 1939
Yankees, running on all cylinders, ripped the Pittsburgh 1902 Pirates by a
large 21 to 1 margin.

Dimaggio had a great day at the plate. He slapped a base-hit scoring a run in
the 1st inning, smacked a three-run homer in the 2nd inning, delivered a
one-base hit bringing in a run in the 6th inning, banged out a single in the
8th inning and laced a base-hit which scored a run in the 8th inning. New
York 1939 provided plenty of action in the 6th inning which saw them score 6
runs on 3 hits and the 8th inning which saw them plate 8 runs on 8 hits. New
York 1939 out-hit Pittsburgh 1902 for the game, 22 hits to 6.

The winning pitcher was Lefty Gomez(2-2) who allowed 1 run in 7 and 1/3
innings. The loss was charged to Jesse Tannehill(1-1). New York 1939 scored
big getting 7 runs off him in 2 innings.

'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park today,' Dimaggio said. 'I'm
glad I decided to play!'

WEB GEMS- Bot 5th: Pee Wee Reese robbed Al Simmons of a base hit.

Freddy Fitzsimmons hurled a fine complete game shutout and center fielder Pete
Reiser hit for the cycle and had 5 RBI as the Phil. (AL) 1931 Athletics were
badly beaten by the Brooklyn 1941 Dodgers, 15 to 0.

Reiser was really in 'the zone'. He banged out a single which brought home a
run in the 1st inning, doubled in the 2nd inning, singled bringing in a run
in the 5th inning, tripled bringing in two baserunners in the 6th inning and
blasted a solo shot in the 8th inning. Brooklyn 1941 lit up the scoreboard
in the 1st inning which saw them plate 5 runs on 7 hits and the 5th inning
when they had 5 runs on 6 hits. Brooklyn 1941 totaled 24 hits on the
afternoon.

Fitzsimmons(1-1) went the distance for the shutout. Lefty Grove(3-1) was
tagged with the loss.

Congrats on the cycle!

Fitzsimmons pitching a shut out against 31 A's is also impressive

Yes, quite a day for Pete ... and as Chip points out, not a bad one for Fitzsimmons either!

Lefty Grove, on the other hand, ...

We'll see N/O how many cycles this year. 8 fewer teams limits the number of chances for one and I believe there are more Cadillac teams playing this year as well. I upgraded to this year's computer game. So far, it seems the pitching is better.
