SOM has a habit of putting rolls of 2-10 good in zones even if the kicker was perfect that season inside that zone back then. In the newer recent sets, it is 2-11. Anyway, the roll was "box cars", a 12. Yepremian was 7 out of 7 from inside 20 yards that season.

I remember them doing 2-12 on extra points, but of course back in the 70's and 80's that was super rare (a kicker being perfect on extra points).  Yeah I seem to recall never seeing anything other then 2-10.........I thought maybe they had changed their platform rules........

They did, but I don't remember what season. Now they use 2-11. I'm guessing that they don't use 2-12 because not everyone only does replays and SOM wanted to put on a chance that the kick could be missed or didn't want players to take the automatic points for strategy reasons.

These are great.  I've been watching the 1968 "This Week" shows for both leagues, which are especially helpful in designing my various fields.  I have been surprised how often aspects of the real life teams (apart from mere statistics) appear in the SOM game.

I didn't know which field to use pictures from with the Oilers until I saw it on one of the weeks episodes of TWIPF. I saw that back in 1972 that there was a full infield dirt and not just around the sliding areas for the bases.
