I'm early into a replay of the 1949 season - on April 23rd the Brooklyn Dodgers paid a visit to Shibe Park and play the Phillies. The Dodgers completely routed the Phightin's 22-0 scoring at least 1 run in every inning. Here's my post from the original game thread.

They sang the National Anthem at 1:35 in Shibe Park today and that was the last thing Phillies' fans got to cheer. This was Robin Roberts first start and the Phillies' home opener so excitement was high in the City of Brotherly Love. That was dashed as Roberts was in the shower by the 3rd inning after giving up 6 runs on 7 hits, 2 walks - Brooklyn up 6-0 after 3.

Then things got bad.


Brooklyn added 2 in the 4th,
batted around for 3 in the 5th,
scored 4 more runs in the 6th,
batted around again in the 7th for 4 runs,
added 2 runs in the 8th,
and got 1 more in the 9th for good measure.
Brooklyn scored in every inning - a total of 22 runs. 22 hits - 9 walks - 2 hit batters - 3 Philly errors. Brooklyn got HRs from Gene Hermanski (solo), Billy Cox (2RBI), and Carl Furillo (solo).

It was a bloodbath and it could have been worse as the Dodgers stranded 11 base runners.
