1974 Oakland A's Replay
Permalink

I knew when I started this I was only going to play Oakland and their opponent. I set the other team's CMs up and I live with the results. Strat gives a player options which is good.

You are right- it is great the strat gives us all the options to mix and match -  following your replay has caught my interest to see the end results - so  I may try the same thing to see how I like it  ( as I have experimented with CM but never with full season just random games).  Luv the pictures you are finding of the amazing A's.  Apologize if you thought my comments critical  - not meant to be I was just commenting on my preference of play in the many options Strat gives us

20 May-Reggie!
The A's went into Metropolitan Stadium and thumped the Twins 10-2. Ken Holtzman went the distance. He allowed a lot of baserunners as the Twins stranded 9 men. Ted Kubiak drove in 3 runs on a 3 hit day. Bill North added 3 hits and is now hitting .337 in May. Bill Butler was not good for the Twins and has an ugly 7.50 ERA on the season.  Glenn Borgmann had 3 hits and is hitting .417 against the A's this season. Reggie Jackson went 4 for 4 with a Homerun. He also got an intentional pass.

Champ Summers made his Major League debut going 0-1 after entering the game to play Right Field.

Since returning from injury 3 games ago Reggie Jackson has been the DH. He is loving that role going 9 for 11 with 3 Doubles, a Homerun, and 2walks. He scored 5 runs and drove in 5.

Designated hitter Reggie Jackson had 4 hits and scored 3 times and Ken
Holtzman allowed Al Dark to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at
Metropolitan Stadium where the Oakland A's beat the Minnesota Twins by the
score of 10 to 2.

Oakland took the lead for good in the 2nd inning when they tallied 3 runs on 2
hits. That early scoring was all that Holtzman(2-5) needed. Oakland rapped
out 13 hits for the night.

Bill Butler(0-2) took the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up
6 runs in 4 innings.

Gonna be a tough one coming up against Joe Decker.....

The write ups would be better if "Manager Nitrous Oxide" was quoted instead of Alvin Dark lol...
