How do you intend to use Ruth?  Is he going to be an everyday player, who happens to pitch every fifth day?

With an outfield that also includes Ricky, Mickey and Ty, it will be interesting to see who sits, and when.

As of right now, Ruth is everyday right fielder. Who will pitch in relief to dangerous lefties and in a mop up roll. Mickey will be in left. Mr Cobb will play center.  Ricky sits as strange as that is. Thanks seajaw

Not at all strange sitting Rickey with that group of three ahead of him.........Cobb hits for a MUCH higher average, most likely with the same OBP or better, and has just as much speed potential.  No way you sit Mantle or Ruth for anyone outside of maybe Ted Williams or Barry Bonds.

That is correct,  and with Mick being my all time 2nd favorite.  I always have a hard time sitting him.

Good points, all.  I was looking at it from the point of a potential lineup that might have Rickey batting leadoff, followed by Cobb, then a combination of Babe/Mickey/Lou (or, all of them, if the DH is in play).  Obviously, The Rajah is in there somewhere, as is Bench, Banks/Wagner, Schmidt.

No matter how you play it, that lineup is loaded
